Envision Greater Fond du Lac is encouraging employers to consider an overlooked source of talent when they are hiring….an individual with a felony record. Envision, in partnership with Moraine Park Technical College and the Community Corrections Employment Program, is hosting a free virtual program Tuesday to educate businesses about hiring the formally incarcerated. Envision president Sadie Parafiniuk says Fond du lac County has an aging workforce. Parafiniuk says at any given time there are more than 1,100 individuals who are on active supervision in Fond du Lac County. Parafiniuk says between July of 2018 and June 30, 2019, 180 offenders were released in Fond du Lac County, but only 43 percent were employed within six months of release.
