2-25-20 fdl republican thiesfeldt says governor would be making mistake by veoting republican tax cut plan

Fond du Lac Republican state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt says a projected state budget surplus is a sign of a strong economy and shows that state residents have been overtaxed.   Thiesfeldt says Democratic governor Tony Evers would be making a mistake by  vetoing a Republican-passed $250 million income tax cut plan.  “It’s unfortunate that the governor would do that,”  Thiesfeldt told WFDL news.  “The best thing that could happen to that money is for it to go back into the pockets of the people who paid it.”  Responding to the governor’s plan to tap the surplus to lower property taxes and spend more on K-12 schools.  “We gave healthy increases in the last two budgets to schools and so we’re trying to spread it out here and make sure we cover all the areas.”
