11-19-19 bottled water made available to st. cloud residents

Bottled water is being made available to village of St. Cloud residents as a boil water notice continues.   The boil advisory was issued Monday due to low water pressure in the system, making  tap water potentially unsafe  for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation.    Bottled water was made available for village residents Monday night and again from 6pm to 9pm  Tuesday night at the St. Cloud Fire Department.   Village trustee Dan Dreifuerst says he’s not sure what caused the leak and if it may be related to a major street reconstruction project that was done this past summer.  “We don’t know if something was done during construction, if the water main was damaged or  if something wasn’t put together correctly,”  Dreifuerst told WFDL news.  “We don’t know at this point.”   Water was shut off Monday to about 230 hourseholds in the immediate area of the leak.   Fond du lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says village residents are being asked to either use bottled water or boil tap water for a minute before using.
