Authorities say an elderly Fond du Lac man apparently suffered a medical condition prior to a fatal crash in Fond du Lac County. The crash happened shortly before 5pm Monday in the area of STH 23 and Townline Road. A preliminary investigation shows a pick-up truck crossed the center line, entered the south ditch of STH 23. The truck then continued traveling west through a field before coming to rest against a vehicle parked in a private driveway on Townline Rd. The driver and lone occupant of the pick-up truck, an 83-year-old Fond du Lac man, was found unresponsive in the pick-up truck. Life-saving efforts were attempted by first responders but were unsuccessful and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office. Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash. It is believed that a medical condition contributed to the crash. No one else was injured.
