Construction is moving right along on a new $25 million Fond du Lac County Highway garage. Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel says the building is now fully enclosed with a roof. Buechel says in addition to the garage itself, work is also underway on other buildings on the site. In addition to the Highway Garage, the site will include a cold storage building, two salt storage facilities, and a 21,000 square foot building for the Sheriff’s Office impound building and Senior Services storage facility. There will also be a retention pond on the property. Buechel says construction is scheduled for completion before the end of the year. Buechel says the new facility on South Hickory Street and Scott Road will be much larger than the current garage on Dixie Street.
