11-9-18 evers says gop discussions are “desperate attempt to cling to power”

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republican lawmakers have privately discussed ways they could limit the incoming Democratic governor before he takes office. Tony Evers, who narrowly defeated Republican Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday, said Thursday that the GOP lawmakers’ discussions are a “desperate attempt to cling to power.” He says GOP legislative leaders should “stop any and all attempts to play politics and weaken the powers of the governor’s office.”
