The Fond du Lac city council got its first look at a proposed McDermott Park Master Plan at their meeting Wednesday night. Public Works director Jordan Skiff says the group Friends of McDermott Park arranged for a UW-Madison landscape architect student to draft the plan as her senior project. Skiff says there is a possibility the city could help fund a recreation trail that connects the north and south ends of the park. Skiff says one recommendation that will be implemented soon is erecting a sign indicating the tennis courts are part of the park. He says the plan would not affect the placement of an ice rink near the park restrooms. He adds that an amphitheater is only included in the plan as a concept.
