2-18-17 fdl judge dismisses former fdl police officer’s appeal

A Fond du lac judge has dismissed an appeal by a former Fond du Lac police officer who was fired by the Fond du lac Police and Fire Commission last fall.   In a ruling last week Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm granted the Commission’s motion to dismiss Curt Beck’s appeal of his firing because the Commission secretary wasn’t properly served with a notice of the appeal.  The Commission fired Beck last September for dishonesty and said the police chief’s investigation of Beck was fair and reasonable.  Beck was one of five officers involved in three extramarital affairs.  Meanwhile a decision by the Police and Fire Commission on charges by Beck’s attorney Dan Kaminsky that police chief Bill Lamb perjured himself during the investigation and committed misconduct in office is expected soon.  The commission deliberated and reviewed documents in closed session this week.
