Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a Waupun home. Shortly before 4pm Saturday firefighters were called to the Christopher and Christine Mayo home at 704 East Franklin Street. Fire chief B.J, DeMaa says upon arrival, smoke and flames were visible on the back side of the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire but were on the scene for a couple of hours. The homeowners were home at the time of the fire and were alerted by a neighbor. The home sustained moderate fire, smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire appears to be a wood burner and chimney.
