The Fond du Lac Forest Mall has been sold. WFDL news broke the story Friday morning. According to a press release the Forest Mall and a mall in Atlanta, Georgia have been sold to private real estate investors for $30 million. According to the release WP Glimcher specializes in the ownership, management and development of shopping centers. Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation president Steve Jenkins says his office is currently trying to learn more details about the transaction. Jenkins says its his understanding the transfer takes place March first. “What we do know is that the purchaser deals with small, distressed malls and is very aggressive in rebuilding those malls in terms of tennants and so forth,” Jenkins told WFDL news. Last year the mall’s current owner Simon Company transferred their properties to a subsidiary called Washington Prime. Jenkins says he is hopeful the new owner will be able to turn the Forest Mall around.
