2-3-16 envision fdl to share progress and key findings

After a year of planning and extensive outreach, key findings from Envision Fond du Lac activity are ready to be shared. Information will be shared through various outlets including the Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce’s (AC) annual meeting on February 11.  Envision Fond du Lac, a community wide visioning and strategic planning process, first started as an AC Leadership Fond du Lac team project and is currently led by an advisory committee made up of a diverse group of public, private, government and not-for-profit members.  Over the past 12 months, community input has been gathered through a series of large and small general workshops, topic-specific workshops, and one-on-one interviews. Through all this valuable input, the strategic planning advisory committee facilitated by Chicago planning firm, Houseal Lavigne, has identified the top three strategic priorities, including our economy, our identity and our next generation. Specific year one priorities will soon be set and the implementation phase of Envision Fond du Lac will begin in support of these three strategic priorities.  During this next step, Envision Fond du Lac leaders will once again engage the community. Upcoming engagements will include details of how the information shared by members of the community translates into a plan for our future.  A community open house will be scheduled where plan details will be shared. Watch for more information.
There are a number of other ways the public can be involved in Envision Fond du Lac:

  • EnvisionFDL.com. The project web site is a central information hub about Envision Fond du Lac, including details about the plan, updates on the process and a variety of on-line outreach tools. Visitors can fill out on-line surveys, geared toward both residents and business owners, keep track of face-to-face outreach opportunities, and utilize sMap. sMap is a fun and unique on-line mapping tool that enables residents to mark up a map of their own community, providing a spatial understanding of local issues and opportunities.
  • Facebook & Twitter. Those interested can follow the project on Facebook and Twitter for the latest project news and updates.
